Full Membership – a pass at RAD Advanced 1 upwards
All the benefits of Friend of the Academy and Affiliate membership, plus the eligibility to:
apply to become an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD) upon successful completion of Advanced 2: you will be able to use the letters ARAD after your name (18 years and over)
take part in the Annual General Meeting: an opportunity to have your say on Academy issues by voting in person, online or by proxy (18 years and over)
enter scholarships, awards and competitions; opportunity to work with world-class choreographers and perform on some of the most prestigious stages around the world
RAD Registered Teacher – upon successful completion of an RAD teaching programme

RAD Life Membership
From September 2015:
(i) All eligible new teaching Life Members will be required to pay an annual fee of R600 in order to maintain their RAD Registered Teacher Status (RTS), to enter candidates for examinations, and to use the RAD RTS logo. The new registration fee will include delivery of Dance Gazette, Focus on Members & Focus on Exams.
(ii) New non-teaching Life Members who wish to continue to receive RAD publications (Dance Gazette; Focus on Member & Focus on Examinations) are required to pay an annual subscription fee of R250.
Full Members who have held RAD membership for 40 continuous years will be eligible for Life Membership commencing September 2015.
From September 2016:
The eligibility for Life Membership will increase from 40 to 42 continuous years of Full membership.
